There are many support systems in the military. One of those is the GCSS Army. Some of you may have never used it.

Here is the information on GCSS Army.

What is GCSS Army? It is the acronym for Global Combat Support System. It is an information system to support the logistics requirements of the US Army. GCSS helps tactical units track or order supplies.

In the past, the Army used a legacy system to manage logistics. GCSS replaced that system.

Although during the initial transition of its use, units experienced a decrease in productivity, GCSS is now proven to benefit them economically.

GCSS consists of two components. They are the Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP) and ERP Solution Program. The former provides enterprise hub services for the system.

Furthermore, AESIP also presents management capabilities of the centralized master data.

On the other hand, the second component functions as a services provider to modernize and integrate operations.

Moreover, ERP also covers supply operations, logistics management, tactical finance functionality, and so on.

You need to contact your Access Administrator (AA) to get access to GCSS. They will send you the link to self-register. That must be done only if you are in a bucket position. A bucket position means you haven’t been given roles.

After waiting for 24 hours, the AA will transfer you into an actual position.

What if you don’t know your AA? You have to contact the GCSS Army help desk. Don’t forget to provide your UIC as well. They will help you by researching your unit structure. That way, who your AA is can be determined.

GTRAC is a GCSS-Army Training and Certification System. It is the source of most current online training for the trainees of the Army. GCSS Army GTRAC allows trainees to self-register and completes their training material online.

GTRAC training management has issued more than 766,000 training certificates. They have not only eight business areas but also six supplemental areas too.

Thus, it is recommended for GCSS Army training students to first take the Common Core courses. After passing that, they can take Business Area Specific courses.

If you’d like to log in to GCSS, you may do so by following these instructions. These are:

• Visit the GCSS homepage at https://gcss.army.mil

• Click on the GCSS-Army portal on the below part of the page

• Click “More Choices” on the Select a Certificate window page

• Select your ID

• Click on OK
• Type your PIN on the ActivClient login window

 

• Click “I Accept” button on the Welcome to GCSS-Army page

• You will be redirected to the Easy Access Menu. Next, you can access GCSS with one of three options there, such as the GCSS Army login portal wing.

• Click on the option you choose. You will be automatically shown a page like the one below

Are There Any Prerequisites to Self-Register GCSS Account?

Initially, you need to fulfill the GCSS-Army prerequisites before registering. The prerequisites are:

• Your current valid CAC, and
• Your unit’s six-character UIC.

How do I Register GCSS-Army?

1. Navigate to the HR Self-Registration Form

After preparing the requirements, you can go through the GCSS Army self-registration as follows:

• Insert your CAC into your computer’s card reader
• Navigate to the Self-Registration website
• Click CAC Login on the EAMS-A Single Sign-On page

• Select your certificate in the box and type your PIN in the ActivClient login box. Then, click on OK

• Click on the “I Accept” button on the Privacy Act Statement page

2. Fill in User Information

• Review the prepopulated fields. If your EDIPI is null, do not complete the form and restart the transaction from step 1.

• Verify that the information from your CAC is correct. Next, type your unit’s six-character UIC in the UIC field.

• Click the “UIC Check” button
• Type your SSN or FIN

• Select your birth date

• Select your Gender
• Type your phone number in the Work Phone and Ext. field
• Type your email ID in the Enterprise Email field
• Choose your email domain

3. Select Personnel Type

• Select your personnel type from the Personnel Type drop-down.

• Click on “Confirm Input” after all the necessary fields are completed.

4. Confirmation Page

• Please confirm that your information is correct

• Click the “Edit” button if you want to change the information.
• Click on “Register” to submit your information.

• Record and/or print the IDoc number for reference

• Click on the “Exit”
• Close the browser window.

It is unfortunate to inform you that you can not access GCSS from your home computer. Your computer will still fail to access even though you have a CAC reader or installed the necessary software.

You need a government computer with a VPN to access GCSS from your home network to rephrase it.

You must fulfill one of these two requirements if you want to be able to access GCSS. You need either a .mil network connection or VPN capability to a .mil network.

You can reach out to one of three Tiers of Support for contact information. The first one is known as the Customer Support Office. It is located at Fort Lee, Virginia. This Tier 1 is operated by CECOM System Engineering Center.
